Move a task under another task

  1. Open the task’s menu and choose Move under….
  2. Choose the destination parent. Selecting it applies the move when no further confirmation is needed.
  3. If the category changes, review the destination and affected task count in the confirmation before proceeding.
  4. Check the resulting tree and use the offered Undo promptly if needed.

Bring a task back to the top level

Choose Move to root from a subtask’s menu to detach it from its parent. Its own descendants stay with it. A task cannot be placed under itself or one of its descendants.

Arrange a custom sequence

Choose Custom in the task sort control to arrange eligible lists with drag handles. Vertical movement reorders siblings; hierarchy drops can move a branch under another task or outdent it.

A filtered or grouped list may disable arranging when the destination would be ambiguous. Return to a supported unfiltered list or category and choose Custom before trying again. Switching to a preset sort does not erase the saved custom arrangement.

Undo a recent structural move

Supported structural moves show a short-lived Undo action. Use it immediately if the result is not what you intended. Undo can fail if the tasks have since changed elsewhere.
