Open Focus, start when ready, and pause when you step away. Recorded with fictional example data in the web app. · 26 seconds

Start focused work

  1. Open the timer from the sidebar or the focus launcher on Home.
  2. Choose Focus and select a task when you want to associate the work.
  3. Review the interval and start the timer.
  4. Use pause, resume, or stop when your work changes.

Set a rhythm that works for you

Settings → Timer controls focus duration, rest duration, the number of focus intervals in a set, and the longer break. On native mobile, use the Focus settings controls.

Opening the timer or switching its tab does not itself start a session.

Wake Screen During Timer requests that the screen stay awake where the browser supports it. Device power controls can still affect screen behavior.

Pause, stop, skip or reset

ControlUse it when
Pause / ResumeYou are stepping away temporarily and want to continue the same interval.
Stop focus timerYou want to finish the current attempt. Eligible focus time can be recorded; a short attempt is not saved.
SkipYou want to move to the next focus or break interval. Recording still depends on actual eligible focus time.
ResetYou want to return to the first interval and clear current set progress. It is not a save action.
Sound on / Sound offYou want to control timer audio. This is separate from task reminder permissions.

Understand recorded time

New Focus intervals are recorded after at least five minutes of actual focus time. Break time and paused time are not a way to increase the eligible focus duration. A shorter attempt may be discarded with an explanation.

If saving fails or synchronization is pending, keep the session state and retry as offered. A locally visible timer is not the same as a confirmed history entry.

Keep working around the timer

You can close the web drawer while a timer runs. Reopen it to review its state. Use the history and statistics views to inspect recorded work.

Start one timer at a time

Starting or resuming a Focus interval needs an internet connection so the app can check whether another timer is running on your account. If another device owns an active interval, return to it or follow the message before starting a second one.

Completed today and the current set show your recorded progress. An active timer is still in progress; it is not a completed session yet.
