Start and pause

  1. Open the timer and choose Stopwatch.
  2. Select a task if you want the time associated with it.
  3. Start the stopwatch when the work begins.
  4. Pause when you step away and resume when you return.

Save the session

Choose Stop and save stopwatch when work is complete. New sessions need at least five minutes of actual elapsed work to be recorded; paused time is excluded. Stopping a shorter attempt discards it with an explanation.

Unassigned time is supported. You do not need to invent a task just to record a work session.

Reset discards the current stopwatch time and starts over; it does not save that time to history. Use Stop and save when you want to keep an eligible session.

Recover from an interruption

Switching tabs or closing the timer drawer should preserve the active stopwatch. If the session cannot be saved immediately, keep its pending state and retry instead of starting an identical history entry.

After a save error, the stop button becomes Retry saving stopwatch. Your elapsed time remains paused while you retry. Wait for the saved confirmation before expecting it in statistics.

Review the result

Use Focus & Timer statistics to review recorded sessions. A paused timer and a saved session are different states; confirm the session reached history when the connection is available.
